WHEN: SOFIA CONTEMPORARY 2013

Novi (New) Zagreb, planned and built under Socialist rule, is a point of departure for the work of David Maljkovic – “Missing Colours”. Inspired by a key scene in the Yugoslav comedy “Balkan Spy’ (1984), in which an artist is arrested for throwing coloured paint against the walls of grey apartment blocks, Maljkovic sets up a minimal sculpture with four primary colour filters and photographs it in front of various locations of Novi Zagreb.
