WHEN: ONE DANCE WEEK 2015
“Black Out” is a graphic show/installation at the crossroads of dance and visual art, in which choreographer Philippe Saire goes back to his favorite artistic form – drawing. The main element of the show are the black rubber grains whose substance and pictorial potential interact with the living reality of bodies. The performers “draw” with the thousands of black particles, leaving traces with their movements. “Black Out” is a fine and gentle reminder of the things that remain outside the lighted space. Choreographer Philippe Saire was born in Algeria, he studied contemporary dance in Lausanne. In 1986, he created his company CIE PHILIPPE SAIRE. He received several prestigious awards for his work.
